It was with a mixture of gratitude and sadness that we bid farewell to the Designated Family Judge for Leicester, Her Honour Judge Jane George, on 29th April. There was a fantastic turnout for afternoon tea (which went on well into the evening...) at the Georgian Rooms. Brendan Roche QC's wonderful speech echoed the feelings of all of those in attendance; we are most grateful for HHJ George's contribution to family justice in Leicester and beyond and we wish her well in her retirement.
We are also delighted to welcome Her Honour Judge Nassera Patel as our newly-appointed DFJ and expect nothing less than a continuation of Leicester's tradition of education, good humour and the very highest standards of practice within our local family justice system under her tenure.
Thank you to Emma Burden for organising the event.
